Lidia Reintroduced

Lidia KasiakLast September, this column introduced you to Lidia Kasiak—the self-described “hybrid model” who worked on a combination of TPO projects both internal and external. Well, we’re delighted to report that Lidia’s role has evolved. Her promotion last month to TPO Consultant will bring exciting changes for Lidia, our clients and TPO at large. “Our hats are off to Lidia on her well-deserved promotion,” says TPO President and CEO Dana Papke. “She’s earned it, and we are really proud of her!”

A Familiar Next Step

While her title may be new, Lidia’s role will entail some familiar territory—one of her clients includes an advocacy organization that she has served on a project-basis for quite some time. “The difference is that now I get to serve them long-term on an outsourced HR engagement, which is really exciting,” says Lidia. “I see it as the logical next step in my career where I’ll be focused on both the big-picture as well as day-to-day operations.”

The Heart of Client Engagement

Lidia is embracing her new position and the excitement that comes with it. “Being a Consultant means owning my own clients and serving them in a broader capacity than I have in the past,” says Lidia. “The downside of my past project work was having to walk away when the work was complete, but now, I’ll be there to measure the business impact of the strategies I recommend.” Consulting also means becoming a more ingrained part of a team, both within TPO and at the client site. “We like to say that TPO Consultants are at the ‘heart of client engagement,’ and I can’t wait to engage with my clients as a trusted advisor.”

Getting Onboard

While some may not think of an internal promotion as an onboarding opportunity, it most certainly is. And in that spirit, TPO will be leveraging the firm’s Onboarding Productivity Measurement Toolkit as it transitions Lidia into her new position. “Our Onboarding Toolkit measures the business impact of onboarding people into new roles, so its application to my promotion makes perfect sense,” says Lidia. “And I must say, after using the tool to onboard several other TPO staff, I’m excited to experience it from the employee’s point of view!”

A Healthy Balance

When we last caught up with Lidia, she was relishing her duties as a new mom to her son Phillip, and looking forward to an upcoming trip to her home country of Poland to visit family. Seven months later, she is celebrating her 10th year of living in the United States and is the proud owner of a new condominium. “Today, my world is all about my job, my family and finding that ideal work-life balance,” says Lidia. “TPO has really helped me strike that balance, and I’m energized by the rewarding challenges my new role is sure to bring.”
